Description
Autumn in California's eastern Sierra Nevada comes in brilliant colors, with aspen, cottonwoods, and willows turning yellow, gold, and even red during the last half of September and running until late October. This photo, taken October 15, 2014, was shows Rush Creek, which meanders along the June Lake Loop north of Mammoth Lakes in eastern California. The at-peak, orange-gold aspen cast shimmering reflections on the waters of the creek. I used the Canon 40D and EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens with a circular polarizer, all on a tripod. The camera exif is ISO 100, f/22 @ 1/4 sec shutter speed.

Congratulations Steve, lovely image!

Thanks Michelle! When I saw that "glow" -- and the rocks in the creek, creating more interest -- I knew it could be something special...
