Artist's Description
While volunteering at our local Cave Creek Canyon Visitor Info Center a birder came in and said he'd passed some people who said they'd seen a male Elegant Trogon in Cave Creek Canyon; it's the signature bird of SE Arizona's "sky islands"; it comes across the border from Mexico to breed in certain canyons here. About Steve Wolfe

The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years. I spend most of the daylight hours hiking and photographing with either the Canon 40D DSLR and...
