OK, so you could say I'm obsessed with Denali. But who wouldn't be? Especially when one is able to see it "out" for nearly 14 straight days. Here's The Mountain, looking southwest from the Denali Highway. I used the Canon 7D MK II and EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM II lens, so the distances here are somewhat foreshortened ("objects appear closer than they really are"), shot in RAW, and handheld. The camera exif is ISO 100, f/11 @ 1/250 second with a focal length of 135mm.
The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I've hiked the country lanes and paths of Great Britain, bike toured thorough Europe for 6 months, backpacked in the Sierra Nevada, and "truck camped" around the western US for weeks at a time, taking in the scenery and places of solitude. I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years.
