Artist's Description

OK, so you could say I'm obsessed with Denali. But who wouldn't be? Especially when one is able to see it "out" for nearly 14 straight days. Here's The Mountain, looking southwest from the Denali Highway. I used the Canon 7D MK II and EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM II lens, so the distances here are somewhat foreshortened ("objects appear closer than they really are"), shot in RAW, and handheld. The camera exif is ISO 100, f/11 @ 1/250 second with a focal length of 135mm.

I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years. I spend most of the daylight hours hiking and photographing with either the Canon 40D DSLR and...
