Near "the Swoosh" along the White Domes Scenic Byway is a wonderland of rocks, striped horizontally with magenta,yellow,desert brown and white. This photo was taken in late afternoon, with the slanted sun highlighting every ridge in the rock. The camera used was the Canon 40D DSLR with the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens. The camera exif is ISO 100, f/10 @ 1/100 sec.
About Steve Wolfe
The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I've hiked the country lanes and paths of Great Britain, bike toured thorough Europe for 6 months, backpacked in the Sierra Nevada, and "truck camped" around the western US for weeks at a time, taking in the scenery and places of solitude. I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years.
