A winter storm had dropped over a inch of rain at Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park; this is the day after, with standing water reflecting the clouds. The camera used was the Canon 40D, and lens the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM . The camera exif is ISO 200, f/7.1 @ 1/125 sec.

The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I've hiked the country lanes and paths of Great Britain, bike toured thorough Europe for 6 months, backpacked in the Sierra Nevada, and "truck camped" around the western US for weeks at a time, taking in the scenery and places of solitude. I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years.
