Artist's Description

Canada's Mt. Robson is the highest point in the North American Rockies at 12,972 feet. It has on of the greatest vertical reliefs on the continent at 9,760 feet. When I was traveling with my trailer up to Alaska in 2018 I passed by it on the highway, looked back and was blown away by how the naked relief reared up over the surrounding forested landscape. I've seen the vertical reliefs of the eastern Sierra in California and Mt. San Jacinto in Southern California, both higher than Mt. Robson, but to me this is the most impressive.

The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I've hiked the country lanes and paths of Great Britain, bike toured thorough Europe for 6 months, backpacked in the Sierra Nevada, and "truck camped" around the western US for weeks at a time, taking in the scenery and places of solitude. I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years.
