Taken on October 6, 20124, Mist Falls, in the south fork of Bishop Creek in California's eastern Sierra Nevada, is justly a photographer's favorite, particularly in autumn when the aspen surrounding it turn yellow, gold and orange, setting off the misty waterfall with brilliant color. The camera used was the Canon 40D and lens the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS, with a circular polarizer. The camera exif is 43mm, ISO 200, f/2.8 @ 1/500 sec.
The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I've hiked the country lanes and paths of Great Britain, bike toured thorough Europe for 6 months, backpacked in the Sierra Nevada, and "truck camped" around the western US for weeks at a time, taking in the scenery and places of solitude. I worked at a Kaiser hospital for 34 years, then retired in 2013 at age 56 and hit the road, living in my travel trailer; I’ve been on the road now since June 2013 and plan to keep on living with no fixed address for at least another 2 years.
