Artist's Description

Most of the lions we encountered on our African safari trip in April 2017 weren't that close, but a lioness with cubs were right alongside the road while we were in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. This cub was quite curious and was trying to climb up the tree to get to its mother who was lazing on a large branch. Needless to say the cub didn't get very far and this was taken right after it had carefully made its way back down. The photo was taken using the Canon EOS 7D MK II and 500 f/4 MK II lens.
