Artist's Description

There are, of course, many photographable views of Denali besides those in the national park; you just have to hope it's a clear day. This is one of the "up close and personal" views, taken at Denali Viewpoint South along the Parks Highway. It's a terrific look at Denali with a landscape lens, but I wanted an even closer look at the summit, so I used my 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 MK II lens. And I did luck out that it was taken on a clear day. Besides the 100-400 lens, I used the Canon 7D MK II and shot handheld in RAW, and the settings were ISO 100, f/11 @ 1/500 sec with a focal length of 379mm.

I spend most of the daylight hours hiking and photographing with either the Canon 40D DSLR and...
