Description
New Mexico's Bosque del Apache Nat'l Wildlife Refuge is best known for its numbers of wintering Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese but raptors are there, too. While visiting Bosque on January 13, 2020 my friends and I came upon a back pond where Bald Eagles, Ravens, and Harriers were taking turns dining on a Sandhill Crane that had been trapped in the ice. This is the adult Bald Eagle; the others were a sub-adult and at least 2 juveniles.
