This is a look at the east side of SE Arizona's Chiricahua Mountains on a cold February morning. A storm had just blown through, leaving a dusting of snow on the higher peaks. The rising sun is just starting to illuminate the mountains. I used the Canon 7D MK II and 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 IS L MK II lens, and the camera exif is ISO 400 f/4.5 @ 1/250 second with a focal length of 300mm.
The "great outdoors" has always been an important part of my life, even though I was born, raised and have a mailing address in Los Angeles' busy port town of San Pedro. I've hiked the country lanes and paths of Great Britain, bike toured thorough Europe for 6 months, backpacked in the Sierra Nevada, and "truck camped" around the western US for weeks at a time, taking in the scenery and places of solitude.
